Meet Nichola
Nichola Bird has been breeding exhibition budgies for under three years and exhibiting for just two show seasons.
In 2018 she showed at 16 shows around the country and this year 2019 at 23 shows to try and support the hobby.
This year she won a lot more section wins for best novice young bird and any age than she lost.
Living in Kent, Nichola has travelled the country as far as Stoke on Trent, Doncaster and Gwynedd in North Wales to show her birds

The Building Blocks are in place
Nichola won two best in show awards with one best bird in show at the High Wycombe Bronze CBS show. A budgie winning best bird in show is almost unheard of. She won then two awards with a Grey Cock, it also took Best Young Bird in show, again unusual to win Best in Show with a Young Bird. She also won Best in Show at Hastings BS Open Show with a Sky-Blue Cinnamon Cock.
She has won Two Best Young Bird in show awards and one best opposite sex Young Bird award. Nichola also won two Best Any Age in show. Lastly Nichola won most points in the 2019 Budgerigar Societies Incentive for Novices and Juniors competition and guess who was 2nd?
Yes Junior Ginge another female. We always hear it said that juniors are the future of our hobby and its true but maybe we shouldn’t discount the ladies who should also be courted.
Both Nichola and Junior Ginge are founding members of the Dartford Kent BS.

Nichola’s wins include 50 CCs
Nichola was top CC winner in the country for Dark Factor Blues, Opaline Greens and Yellow Faces
5th Place in the country
Nichola won the CC for Young Bird best Any Other Colour with a Dilute at the Budgerigar Society World Show. Dilutes happen to be her favourite mutation so it meant a lot to her.
Nichola registered two champion birds this year. An Opaline White Dilute and a Yellow Faced Grey
Nichola won the top Novice CC winner with those 50 CCs
Nichola won 1st place in the Novice section of the Countrywide Breeder of the year competition.
Nichola won the Budgerigar Societies Trial Super League 2019 beating every other exhibitor in the country

Stars in the making
Nichola and Junior Ginge have both had fantastic results during 2019.
Future Stars if not already in the hobby of showing budgerigars.
You cannot be anything but impressed with the birdroom and what Nichola has achieved in such a short time.
